Healing Reins Therapeutic Riding Center was founded in 1999 and is a 501 © 3 non-profit organization. It is recognized for its excellence in providing nationally accredited horse-centered therapies and activities which are delivered by professionally certified staff with the help of specially trained community volunteers and specifically selected horses. The organization earned its distinguished status as a PATH (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship) International Premier Accredited Center in 2001 and maintains that designation through a rigorous accreditation process that occurs every five years. Healing Reins is the only center of its kind in Oregon east of the Cascades.
The facility offers an ADA approved facility complete with indoor riding arena and fourteen stalls, an outdoor arena, a round pen learning area and a Sensory Integration/Challenge Trail course with beautiful views of the Oregon Cascades.
Healing Reins Therapeutic Riding Center has grown thoughtfully over the years and now serves 160-180 children, teens and adults each week, impacting the lives of more than 1,400 families each year. Healing Reins relies heavily on the community for support, both in the arena and other areas of its daily operations. In addition to providing volunteer support, the Central Oregon community contributes generously to Healing Reins through private donations, corporate sponsorships, in-kind contributions, and participation in our annual fundraising events, “Diamonds & Dust” and the “Triple Crown Online FundRacer”.
While programs continue to grow to address community demand, in our mission “to heal with horses” we remain dedicated to our values of safety, respect, compassion, excellence and honesty.
