SENSORY
INTEGRATION TRAIL
The Healing Reins Sensory Trail project is a unique and creative program for sensory integration therapy. The trail consists of multiple stations accessible from horseback. Stations feature activities designed to promote and enhance sensory learning. Activities along the path integrate and enrich the senses of sight, smell, hearing and touch while presenting learning opportunities in new and exciting ways. The trail is located in a beautiful and serene location at the Healing Reins facility with the Cascade Mountains in as the backdrop.
The trail could not have materialized without the creativity in design and many hours of labor by Summit High School’s Advanced Biology Class and Roots & Shoots program, both led by teacher Mark McGarigal. Station sponsors, HRTRC volunteers and generous donors have also helped to make the trail possible:
